Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek

Overview:
        Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek  is an easily reachable trek from the city of Pokhara. The view of mountain range is maginificient during this trek. Due to the ease to reach this base camp, many avid trakkers and nature lovers prefer this trek among other trekking trails.
  
Mardi Himal Trek was started around 2014, initially there were hardly any hotels beside the Forest camp. With the popularity among the trekkers and tourist, now many hotels and lodges opening along the way. Further, more resting areas are created along the way. 

Max Altitude: Mardi Base Camp(4500 m) 
Time: 3-4 Days Max. 

           Pokhara-Hemja: 20 min Max 
 Route 1:
         Lwang Ghalel- Forest Camp(2500 m)-Low Camp(2990 m)- High Camp (3580 m)-Mardi Base Camp(4500 m)
  • Hemja - Lwang Ghalel: 2 Hrs Drive
  • Lwang Ghalel - Forest Camp : 2Hrs Walk
  • Forest Camp - Rest Camp: 1.5 Hrs Walk
  • Forest Camp - Low Camp: 1.5 Hrs Walk
  • Low Camp - MiddleCamp/Badal Danda: 2 Hrs Walk
  • MiddleCamp/Badal Danda - High Camp: 1 Hr Walk
  • High Camp - Base Camp: 4 Hrs Walk
   Pros
            Better managed and easier trail than the Sidhing Route.  
   Cons
        This route is bit lengthy,especially the route from Ghalel till Forest Camp. 

Route 2:
           Sidhing(1280 m)-Low Camp(2990 m)- High Camp (3580 m)-Mardi Base Camp(4500 m)
  • Hemja - Sidhing: 3 Hrs Drive
  • Sidhing - Low Camp: 4 Hrs Walk
  • Low Camp - High Camp: 3 Hrs Walk
  • High Camp - Base Camp: 4 Hrs Walk
   Pros
        Its the shorter compared to the Ghalel till Forest Camp route.   

    Cons
        Sidhing - LowCamp , its a steep inclined route.Its a less travelled route used mainly by the Villagers.   

  Transportation: You can get Jeeps from Hemja till Ghalel/Sidhing

  • Low Camp - Few Hotels/Lodges
  • High Camp - Many Hotels/Lodges
 Other Attractions Enroute: Notes:
  • Look for the below marking on the trees and stones after Forest Camp.

  • Try to book rooms at High Camp and Low Camp beforehand as thers limited Lodging facility.
  • Take warm clothes ,the weather is little chilly esepecially at High Camp
